eBay listing image size and dimension requirements

Overview

Getting image dimensions right ensures your listings look professional on both desktop and mobile. This article covers eBay's requirements and Frooition template image sizes.

eBay image requirements

• Minimum: 500px on the longest side
• Recommended: at least 1600px on the longest side for zoom to work correctly
• Maximum: 9000px on the longest side
• Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP
• File size: eBay recommends keeping files under 7MB

Frooition template banner dimensions

The correct dimensions depend on your specific template. As a general guide:

• Full-width header banner: 1200px wide x 200–300px tall
• Store banner (eBay store header): refer to eBay's current store banner guidelines as these change periodically

If you are unsure of the correct dimensions for your template, raise a ticket and the team will confirm the exact size for your design.

Slider images (Shopify / landing pages)

For Frooition-built Shopify stores with a hero slider, the image structure typically uses two layers:

• Background image: a full-width image that fills the slider behind the main content
• Overlay image: a smaller image layered on top, with a recommended maximum of 600px wide x 400px tall (landscape orientation)

The overlay image is displayed separately on mobile to improve readability. Design your overlay image at the correct ratio rather than relying on the platform to crop it.

Designing images in Canva

1. Set the canvas size in pixels to the dimensions specified above.
2. Export as PNG or JPEG at standard screen resolution.
3. Avoid using Canva's ‘Print’ export option as this produces unnecessarily large files.
4. If your image includes text, check it is readable at small sizes on a mobile screen.
