BigCommerce - Frooition Access Guide

This article will guide you through the stages you need to take in order to give Frooition's BigCommerce designers access to your store. This is required so that we can create, check and manage all aspects of the build and installation.

Step 1: User account

Log in to your BigCommerce account
Navigate to Account Settings > Users
Create a User Account
Add the email address: creative@froo.com
Set the User Role to Store Administrator (This gives us the permissions we need)
You might need to add us to any 3rd party Single Click Apps if that was part of the proposal
Click Save

This video will show you how to complete the steps mentioned above.

We will also require full API details in order to develop the store.

Step 2: Create V2/V3 API details:

Log into your BigCommerce account
Navigate to Settings
Scroll down to the API section and click API Accounts
Click the blue + Create API Account button to the top right
Ensure V2/V3 API token is selected in the Token type field
Name the connection Frooition Development
Set the following Scopes:

Click Save to the bottom right
The below screen will pop up with your API credentials and a .txt file will also download to your device. You can send the details or the text file to creative@froo.com and press Done once the details have been passed on to our development team.

Create Stencil API details:

Sometimes, we may need you to provide additional Stencil API details. To do this, follow the instructions below:

Log in to your BigCommerce account
Navigate to Advanced Settings > API Accounts
Click Create API Account
Click Create Stencil-CLI Token
Name the agency as Frooition
Click Publish Theme (IMPORTANT!) we cannot install without this
Click Save in the bottom right of the page.
A pop-up will appear with an 'Access Token' and a 'Terminal Quickstart'. You get a text document that downloads in your browser, this can be sent over to your Frooition contact.
Alternatively, you can copy and paste these codes into an email to your Frooition contact, once you close the pop-up window. You will not be able to gain access to them again.
