Setting up your Frooition template to work with 3rd party listing tools

Modified on Tue, 22 Aug, 2023 at 12:59 PM

This article will show you how to use the Frooition listing tool to generate your eBay design code to use with a 3rd party listing tool.

The Frooition software allows you to integrate your design with 3rd Party eBay solutions such as ChannelAdvisor, Linnworks, InkFrog and many more. These systems use template tags such as {{TITLE}}. This tag is then replaced by the software for each individual title at the point of the listing.

See the points below to create a 3rd party listing profile:

1. Select Listing Profiles in the left-hand menu then click the Create New button:

2. Select Tag based listing tool from the listing method options,

  • Select your listing tool from the dropdown list (if your listing tool is not in the list, select Other),
  • Choose the eBay site that you list to from the drop-down list,
  • Give your profile a name (such as ChannelAdvisor template),
  • Click the NEXT button:

3. If you have selected the correct listing tool option, you will see the prefilled macro tags that your listings will use. If any of the macros have changed, you can edit them, you can also access the Photo/Video macros by selecting the 'Add images from your own hosting' button below the gallery.

If you have any additional macro tags that you wish to use in your template, you can add these to the Item Description area. Click NEXT to go to Stage 3: Design:

4a. You can select the template you wish to use and choose the layout of the image gallery on this page.

4b. You can also select which seller information tab set you wish to use on the template. For more information on Tab Sets and how to set them up, see our article HERE

Once you are happy to proceed, click GET CODE.

5. A popup box will appear with the code for your 3rd party tool. Highlight all the text and copy it or alternatively, scroll to the bottom and select Download Code.

Once you have an up-to-date version of your Template Code, you will need to head back over to your 3rd party listing tool. Each listing tool has different ways of applying a template to your eBay listings, you will need to be sure to follow the instructions provided by them as closely as possible. If you have any issues applying the template code you should seek help from your listing tool provider.

If you have already created listing profiles and just need to get the code to put into your listing tool, select Listing Profiles in the left-hand menu and click GET CODE on the relevant listing.
